Twitter suspend designer's account for claiming Meghan Markle's wedding gown was identical to one of hers

A popular designer has had her Twitter account suspended after she hinted that the wedding dress worn by Meghan Markle was identical to one of her own creations.

London-based Emilia Wickstead had said the Duchess of Sussex's gown, rumoured to have cost anything from £200,000 to £387,000, was exactly the same as one of her £7,000 designs.

The designer's claims about the royal dress, created by Givenchy's Clare Waight Keller, caused quite a storm on social media, so much so her Twitter account was suspended. The reason for her suspension is yet to be known but it obvious, it was caused by the uproar. People visiting her page are now told, "this account has been suspended."

Emilia Wickstead

Story is, Wickstead who is the Duchess of Cambridge,  Kate Middleton's favourite designer lashed out last week, saying:

Her dress is identical to one of our dresses. "Apparently a lot of commentators were saying 'It's an Emilia Wickstead dress'.

She also took a dig at the fit of the dress and the bride's hair.  Wickstead told Dailymail:

"If you choose a simple design the fit should be perfect. Her wedding dress was quite loose." Concerning the hair, she said: "I was like, 'hold the wisps back — it's a royal wedding for God's sake'."
