Oprah Winfrey caught in California mudslide, 16 people dead

At least 16 people have lost their lives in Southern California after a heavy downpour caused mudslides in Los Angeles.

Celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres, Tennis legend Jimmy Connors were among those affected by the devastation.

According to Daily Mail, multiple bodies were found during the rescue operation in Montecito, on Tuesday, after downpours sent mud and boulders roaring down the wealthy neighbourhood.

Mudslide slammed into homes, covered highways and swept away vehicles.                                                                                                                                                                                                        
Oprah's $50 million mansion was luckily not damaged but Connor had to be rescued with a helicopter.
The chat show host shared a video of a blazing gas fire that was triggered after the mudslide and a photo of the knee deep mud in her backyard to her Instagram page.
