DSS officers unsuccessfully tries to arrest Reno Omokri at Abuja airport

Reno Omokri seems to have landed in DSS's soup. Lol! He is now a wanted man, unofficially. According to Vanguard, the Department of States Secret Service, DSS, had attempted to arrest the former aide to President Jonathan on Thursday.

Story is, Reno had sent consignments of his new book, Facts Versus Fictions into the country on Thursday. His distributor who happens to bear a striking resemblance with him was accosted at the airport by Customs agents when he showed up to pick the consignment.

They interrogated him then handed him over to DSS agents who took him into an office for further interrogation. Narrating his experience, the distributor who hasn't been named said:

The DSS agent kept asking, ‘are you the author?’ to which he responded in the negative. At which point, he was detained and taken to an office with four or five other people in it.” He added that, “After some minutes, he heard the DSS agent discussing his fate in an adjoining room, so he began moving to the door, which had been left ajar, and then bolted” and took to his heels.

Also, in an electronic voice mail sent to Vanguard, the distributor said he was repeatedly asked “Are you the author?” “Where is the author?” and “where is your passport?” among several questions to which he told them he was not the author and neither was he travelling abroad. He said he also told the operatives that the author was not in the country.

Reno took to Facebook to react to DSS move to arrest him. He wrote:

What have I done to the Muhammadu Buhari administration to deserve this? Did I lie in the book? If I did then sue me for libel! What is Nigeria coming to?
