God needs your pounds and dollars, do not offer Ugandan shillings - Pastor tells congregants

A Ugandan Chaplain is in the news after stories emerged that he asked his congregants to stop offering Ugandan shillings to God.

Rev. Canon Christine Shimanya advised people who give offerings in local currency to also consider giving God Pounds and Dollars as God loves that too.

Shimanya, the Anglican Chaplain for Uganda's parliament,  made the statement during a sermon at Namugongo Martyrs Church in the outskirt Kampala on Sunday.

According to DailyMonitor Reports, Rev. Shimanya said:

Some Christians have dollars and pounds earned from international conferences; instead they change the money to shillings before bringing it to church as offertory. Bring those dollars and pounds, God needs them.
