Mom drops daughter at daycare, then return to find the child's feet taped to her shoes

A mother was left in shock when she picked up her daughter from a daycare centre and discovered her shoes had been taped onto her feet by a staff.

Jessica Hayes took to Facebook to air her displeasure then shared disturbing images showing her 17-month-old daughter with the pink shoes taped on after she was picked up from Pleasant Hill Daycare in North Carolina.
Hayes wrote alongside the picture:

Someone was clearly upset that she was learning to take her shoes off and done it out of being aggravated. This was also not just her shoes being taped up it was around her ankle, my 17-month-old child was unable to say anything. This was left on long enough and tight enough to leave marks, cause swelling, and bruise.’

After raising her concern with the nursery, the management fired two staff members who were responsible for the act.

Jessica who decided against withdrawing her child from the daycare said she decided to make her post public to make other mothers aware, adding:
‘It was done to make others aware of not only her daycare but others, including in-home daycares, not to keep it silent and only amongst the people who have kids currently enrolled in daycare.’
