Fulani herdsmen murder pastor of Church of God Mission in Benin

Fulani herdsmen have continued their killing spree in the Nigeria unabated. A pastor lost his life in Benin, last week.

Pastor Pius Eromosele of Church of God Mission, in Benin City, Edo State, was kidnapped by suspected herdsman later found dead in the bush.

According to reports, the herdsmen kidnapped and demanded the sum of N4million from the pastor which wasn't met. The decomposing body of the pastor was discovered by hunters and vigilantes who went in search of him.

Dr Eromosele, the eldest son of Pastor Eromosele, revealed his father was abducted on March 29, and his corpse discovered on April 3rd.
He said, his father's skull was cut through after he was shot at close range. Eromosele said he reported his dad's abduction to the police, and was referred to the anti-kidnapping unit, but the police didn't do much to help.
Pastor Eromosele's workers, Kingsley and Akpan, who escaped the herdsmen's enclave narrated the incident that occurred before the clergyman was killed.
The herdsmen demanded for N4m but we begged them that it was a holiday and could not raise such money. I went to the police and they told me that I should call them whenever the herdsmen called for ransom payment.
I did that but there was no response from the police. The two workers that escaped told us that the herdsmen told my father that he was one of those killing their cows.
We want security agencies to protect farmers in Odighi. My father has farmed in that place for many years. How could I go into farming when my father was killed like a pig”, he lamented.
