Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton birth third child and... it is a boy

William and Kate welcomed their first child Prince George in 2013

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has birth her third child. The Duke and Duchess announced the arrival of the royal baby this afternoon. Kate went into labour early this morning and hours later gave birth to their third child, a boy. The baby was born at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.


Kensington Palace's spokesman who earlier announced Kate was in Labour made the birth announcement moments ago. He said:

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.

The newborn Prince is fifth in line to the throne after Princes Charles, William, George and Princess Charlotte. He will be named at a later date.
