University of Calabar postpone convocation slated for March 10, 2018



Looks like this is the season of convocation postponement. First it was UNILAG now UNICAL. University of Calabar has postponed their convocation which was slated for Saturday 10th March 2018. The University in a press release signed by the registrar Mr Moses Abang said the 31st Convocation has been postponed for unforeseen circumstances.
The University of Calabar hereby announces the immediate postponement of its 31st Convocation ceremony earlier scheduled for Saturday, March 10th 2018.
The postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances. Management sincerely regrets any inconveniences caused our visitors, graduands awardees, parents and the general public. A new date will be announced later. 
A source told Emem Etto's Blog that the postponement was due to the Non Academic Staff Union , NASU, strike.
NASU, under the umbrella of Joint Action Committee, JAC, comprising of Non Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU) National Academic Technologists (NAAT) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have been on strike since December, 2017.
