Dapchi community stone Governor Geidam's convoy after he confirmed the missing school girls weren't rescued

Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Geidam was stoned in his state yesterday after he told parents of the missing school girls that their daughters hadn't been rescued.

The army had released a statement saying 48 out of the 96 girls kidnapped from Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, by Boko Haram militants had been rescued.

Governor Geidam who initially released a statement confirming their release, visited the community to say none of the girls who went missing had been found and that didn't end well.

Residents and parents of the missing girls accused him of deceiving them then proceeded to hurl stones at his convoy. The stones damaged a couple of windshields . The Governor was immediately whisked away while his aides used teargas to disperse the crowd.

Recall that the Military had released a statement on Wednesday saying that some of the missing girls were rescued and were in custody of the Nigerian Army, a claim which turned out to be untrue. People are now turned between believing the Army or the Governor.
