Dana Air plane overshoots runway and lands in the bush... FAAN issues statement

A Dana Air flight traveling from Abuja to Port Harcourt skidded off the runway on Tuesday. The incident happened at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa, Rivers State.
According to reports, the pilot upon arriving Port Harcourt overshot the runway and made for a nearby bush. Fortunately, no life was lost in the incident.

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN,  released a statement this morning addressing the incident. They blamed it on 'heavy rain and strong wind'.

Last week, the exit door of a Dana flight travelling from Lagos to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, fell off upon landing. Passengers on the flight described the noise from the incident as explosive.
Dana Air released a statement after the news went viral, denying the door was faulty. They claimed a passenger forced the door open when in actual sense no passenger touched the door.

Recall that on the 3rd of June 2012, a Dana Air plane carrying 163 passengers including crew members from Abuja to Lagos crashed into a building in a Lagos suburb, killing all souls onboard plus 10 people on ground.
